NORTHCOTE, VIC | WURUNDJERI LAND

Dennis House

A thoughtful reimagining of family living spaces that honour both form and function. For this inner north townhouse a harmonious flow between the living, dining, and music rooms was created that supports the way this young family lives while elevating their everyday experience.

Layered natural materials, varied textures, and warm tones were employed to craft spaces that feel grounded and connected—both to place and to the family who calls this house home.

The dining area features a hydrowood Tasmanian Oak Made by Morgan table paired with classic Thonet chairs, anchored by an Akari paper lantern that diffuses light with a gentle luminosity.

The sinuous lines and craftsmanship of the Nicole Lawrence ‘Smooth Shelf’ adds an element of approachable sophistication and provides a space to display family treasures.

A heavily textured wool rug adds warmth and inherently complements the brick fireplace detailing and concrete floors throughout.

Family-friendly fabrics ensure durability without sacrificing style, allowing the spaces to be truly lived in rather than merely admired.

The living room features an Australian made Nau mustard sofa that sets the scene for a welcoming space, while the pink boucle reading chair is the choice place to curl up of an evening.

The window seat offers a quiet moment to connect with the garden beyond. The Ka-Ra Studio side table adds an element of playfulness to the space.

The music room embraces acoustic considerations with heavy curtaining and the iconic low-profile Togo seating, creating a space where sound and comfort coexist beautifully.
